MGA Gaming Act: New Directives and Key Functions Notification

July 2018: The MGA has issued Regulations and Directives that come into force on 1 August 2018 together with the new Gaming Act.

MGA - Key Functions

The New Gaming act, as of 1 August 2018, will bring new changes to licensees that are now required to identify the persons responsible for key functions. 

There could be also some conflicts in key functions that have been identified by the Malta Gaming Authority in terms of article 9 of the Gaming Authorisations and Compliance directive.

MGA - New Gaming Framework Directives

New Regulations have been published on 20 July 2018 in the Government Gazette of Malta. They enable the new gaming regulatory framework  together with the new Gaming Act (Cap 583 of the Laws of Malta).

The MGA is also issuing the Player Protection Directive and the Gaming Authorisations and Compliance Directive. They will come into force on 1 August 2018 together with the Act and the Regulations
